School Prayer and Acknowledgement of Country

This is our school,
St Francis of Assisi School.
Let peace dwell here.
Let our school be full of contentment.
Let love abide here.
Love of one another,
Love of all people,
Love of life itself
and love of God.
Let us remember that as many hands build a house,
So many hearts build a school.
St Francis of Assisi - Pray for us.
St Mary of the Cross - Pray for us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus - I trust in You.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;
For your mercy and for your truth's sake.

Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
In forgiving that we are forgiven;
And in dying that we are born to eternal life.

As we gather today, let us acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land,
Where the Aboriginal people have performed age-old ceremonies of storytelling, music, dance, celebrations and renewal.
Let us acknowledge this living culture and its unique role in the life of Australia today.
Let us acknowledge our Elders past and present and pay our respects to those who have and still do guide us with their wisdom.
