There are a variety of co-curricular activities on offer for students at St Francis of Assisi. All students are encouraged to participate in some of the co-curricular programs available. These programs develop students’ confidence, talents and sense of responsibility.
Some of the opportunities available at St Francis of Assisi include:
Our three main sports carnivals are swimming, athletics and cross country. These days are designed primarily for student enjoyment of the sport, participation and for the promotion of exercise and a positive sporting experience. As a result of these carnivals, students may progress from school level, to Diocesan, to MacKillop, to NSWPSSA and ultimately national level in selected sports.
Outstanding sporting students in Years 5 and 6, playing in the highest division possible, are invited to attend trials for positions in Wollongong Diocese representative teams. Trials are conducted for a variety of sports including tennis, basketball, netball, soccer, rugby league, rugby union, touch football, hockey, softball and cricket.
The representative pathways are as follows:
School-based Carnivals/Trials > Diocesan Carnivals/Trials > NSW MacKillop Carnivals/Trials > NSW PSSA State Carnivals > Australian Championships (School Sport Australia).
