Celebrating National Tree Day
Our students at St Francis of Assisi have enjoyed celebrating National Tree Day – Australia's largest community tree-planting and nature protection event.
National Tree Day is a call to action for all Australians to put their hands in the earth and give back to their community.
For our students, it was a day to venture outdoors and get to know your community, and most importantly, to have fun!
St Francis of Assisi children joined more than 3,000 students across the country participating in environmental activities that educate individuals about the world around them.
We took part in the Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures's invitation for students to create an artwork to celebrate this day.
Students produced some beautiful artworks celebrating the environment, nature and the benefits of trees to our planet Earth.
Congratulations to Lara D in Year 5 who has created an amazing artwork [pictured here], that has been entered in the competition.
Good luck to Lara and all our students who submitted artworks to the competition!
