What a spectacular day it was at St Francis of Assisi, Warrawong! Today at exactly 12:00 pm, our school community paused, settled in, and joined millions of children across Australia to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS).

This year, we were absolutely thrilled to welcome our wonderful little friends from Pegasus Preschool to share in the magic.

Together, we dived into this year's fantastic official NSS book, Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd.

Watching our primary students and preschoolers captivated by Luna Roo's high-energy footy adventures and her journey with FC Outback was an absolute joy.

NSS is always a highlight on our calendar, but more importantly, it serves as a wonderful springboard to boost our focus on literacy. Moments like today allow us to lead by example, demonstrating to our young learners just how vital—and incredibly fun—reading is for their bright futures. From cheering on Luna’s determination to the vibrant discussions about teamwork after the final page, the energy in the room was a testament to our thriving reading culture.

A massive thank you to the staff, our amazing visitors from Pegasus, and our enthusiastic students for making today such an enjoyable and memorable experience.
